MOUNTAIN HOUSE

A contemporary and undeniably sexy retreat in Tolmie, Modern Mountain Home is a passion project for Simone and her husband Rhys. Designed in collaboration with architects Healy Ryan, the house offers a destination setting in Victoria's high country. Backing onto a state forest, large expanses of glass frame impressive views to Mt Buller and beyond. ANGLERS SHACK

Located on Philip Island, Angler’s Shack is the beloved Haag family weekender and guest retreat. This quintessential Australian beach shack oozes Californian cool vibes and underscores Simone’s extraordinary ability to not only source unique pieces, but to bring them all together in unexpected ways. The shack is an eclectic - and ever-evolving - combination of vintage and Scandinavian finds, forming a repository for some of Simone’s personal favourites. Available for stays by request.

SIMONE HAAG X LA

Hollywood with a Haute Twist

In October of 2022, Simone and her team hosted a design-focused excursion to LA that spotlighted its leading furniture stores, design showrooms, flea markets, artists’ studios and as many esteemed homes as we could wangle. The highlights included visits to Lautner’s Silvertop and Garcia houses, Casa Perfect, Eames House, Apparatus and Atra Form Studio.

We host a mix of aspiring designers and design enthusiasts  on the tour. “It’s for like-minded people who want a curated experience, but don’t mind a little bit of serendipity.” – The tour was featured in The Australian here.

ENGAGE

A veritable design influencer and aesthete, Simone is regularly invited for commentary within the design industry. She has served on numerous design juries including the IDEA and GOYTA awards, was shortlisted as Belle Emerging Designer of the Year (2020) and IDEA Designer of the Year (2022). She is an ambassador for distinguished brands including Lavazza, Samsung, Tint, Mecca Cosmetica and Tacchini.

Inspired by the lessons gleaned in her early career, Simone has also committed to mentoring emerging designers and her solid reputation in the industry landed her a presenter role on the TV show, Dream Homes Revealed on 9 Life. Her projects are regularly featured in Australian design award shortlists and in premium publications including Elle Decoration UK, Domino, Belle, Vogue Living and Real Living.
